In the field of watchmaking, retrograde is a very attractive and complex function. This mechanism is often equipped with a fan-shaped window, and the pointer goes one-way. When the indicated scale is full, the pointer will return to the starting point of the scale instantly, and then start a new round of time-traveling process. At Baselword 2018, Blancpain launched the classic series big date retrograde week steel watch, official model: 6668-1127-55B.

The case has a diameter of 40 mm and a thickness of 11.10 mm. It is made of stainless steel, polished and refurbished, and equipped with a double bezel, with simple and smooth lines. The crown has a pit pattern for easy grip adjustment, and is engraved with ‘B’ to highlight the brand logo. With the crown, you can quickly adjust the date.
The dial is white, with elegant low-key hands and time markers, and the slender central second hand is engraved with Blancpain’s initials.
The week window is set between 7 and 9 o’clock, and the large date window is set between 5 and 6 o’clock, which is balanced and symmetrical. The day of the week and date display can be switched instantaneously at midnight; the retrograde week will be retroactively started from Sunday to Monday to start a new week.
It is equipped with Blancpain’s new 6950 GJ self-produced movement. This movement is based on the 1150 movement. It is equipped with two main barrels and provides 72 hours of power reserve. Through the transparent case back, the fine Geneva wave and guilloche-decorated gold rotor is clearly visible.
In addition, the watch is equipped with a dedicated hidden adjustment button. The wearer can easily set the day of the week without touching the button with the fingertips.
It has a brown alligator leather strap lined with alzavel calfskin.
